On Sunday 28th June 2026 Anglia Motor Sport Club, in conjunction with West Suffolk Motorsport Club, will organise a single-venue Targa Rally at Woodbridge Airfield adjacent to Rock Barracks near Woodbridge, Suffolk.

After much determination and hard work we are returning to Woodbridge Airfield for a Targa Rally. The roads are essentially smooth concrete , with the odd curb and this is an ideal event for standard cars, first timers & double drivers.

The event is named Woodbridge Halo Targa by Dave ‘Shaggy’ Saint, and will be run in his memory after his sad passing on Saturday 18th April. Dave has been the driving force in the return of Motorsport at Woodbridge by running Autosolos for the last 2 years at the venue, and working with the Base to enable the Targa to take place. 

I don’t think there is a single person within Motorsport in the East of England and further who didn’t know Dave. He was a very likeable character and has supported so many people on their journeys into Motorsport. With marshal coaching and growing the ‘Team Halo’ group or by supporting new competitors in many disciplines. Dave’s nothing is too much trouble approach meant having him as part of the organising team was a dream. 

We plan to run 12 tests of between 0.5m & 2.5m all featuring a Lap or Loop , to extend the test lengths with an Arrowed Split Junction and  Stop in a Box Passage Controls at the Merge Junctions.  No single test will be repeated , so Navigators will need to concentrate on the Test Changes in the Road Book, and driver running order for double drivers will be switched after each round of 3 Tests. No Code Boards.  All will be revealed in the Road Book , Test Diagrams and Drivers Briefing .
